Designed for investors and financial professionals, the Dashboard makes both the underlying data and the calculations behind holdings, positions, capital gains and cash flows visible.

Ingest
Bring raw investment data together across sources and formats.
Babylon ingests investment data in the form in which it is actually received: raw emails, PDFs, CSV and Excel files, and data obtained through API integrations. Each source can have its own structure, terminology, formatting and level of completeness.
These disparate inputs enter one workflow instead of requiring every institution, document or application to follow the same prescribed format.
For occasional manual entry, Quick Entry converts a short natural-language description such as bought 53 IUSA for 2500 into a structured segment ledger entry, avoiding a rigid multi-field form.
Interpret
Understand what the raw source material means.
Babylon is not limited to formats known in advance. It applies semantic reasoning directly to raw source material, interpreting varied and previously unseen layouts without requiring a fixed template to be defined for every source.
For tabular trade data, its semantic inference engine reasons from headings, values, context and financial relationships to identify quantities, prices, cash amounts, dates, instruments and identifiers, even when they are expressed or arranged differently.
Normalise
Transform interpreted data into one consistent financial model.
After the raw source data has been understood, Babylon converts it into a consistent representation. Differences in field names, column order, date formats, currency conventions, identifiers and transaction structures are normalised into comparable financial records.
The same underlying model is used throughout the Dashboard and API, so every view and calculation has a consistent meaning regardless of the original source or format.
Analyse
Turn consistent data into transparent financial results.
Use the Dashboard to inspect segment ledgers, cash ladders, bond ladders and savings sets; review current and historic security listings and related corporate actions; and calculate positions, cost basis, unit costs, capital gains and cash flows.
Capital gains can be calculated under UK and South African tax rules, while projected, historic and taxable cash flows can be generated for cash and bond ladders. Users can move from a result back to the holdings, reference data and entries behind it, making calculations easier to verify, understand and explain.
The Babylon API, made visible
The Dashboard and API provide two ways to work with the same platform.
The Dashboard is designed for interactive review and analysis in the browser, while the API supports applications, integrations and automated workflows. Both use the same underlying financial model and calculation services, helping to keep data and results consistent whichever interface is used.
